NCAA In The Spotlight

The national championship tournament for basketball is in progress but unfortunately the NCAA is getting quite a bit of negativity. The men’s tournament has been well supported with fully equipped training room, high quality meals, plenty of digital media for fans, Covid PCR tests and players gift bags that look like Christmas. As for the women’s tournament, there weight room consisted of one set of dumb bells and some yoga matts, packaged meals that were reported as mediocre, Covid antigen tests that are less accurate than the PCR test, players gift bags that were a pure disappointment compared to what the men received and we won’t see any digital media until the Sweet 16 games and beyond. Although the NCAA has admitted they made a mistake and since increased the equipment in the weight room for the women and appear to be improving the meals the recent treatment has sent a clear message that equality in basketball is a problem.
