Now that fall sports have come to a close, it’s time for Dakota’s winter sports. There are seven sports teams that take place during winter. First, is the wrestling team. The varsity boys will have their first meet at home against Lake Orion, Yale, and Rochester at 5:00 on December 7th. JV will be participating in this meet at the same time.

Next is our basketball teams. For boys varsity basketball, their first game is at home against Lutheran High North at 7:00 on November 28th. The JV will be going up against LHN on November 28th in the main gym while the Freshman team will be in the aux gym. Both games are at 3:30. The girls varsity team will have their first game at home against Oxford at 7:00 on December 4th. The JV will be on the same day at 5:30 in the main gym, while the Freshman game will be at 4:00 in the main gym.

The dance team’s competition season began this past Sunday. Both teams placed first in pom and second in jazz. Their next competition will take place on December 10th in Grand Rapids.

The cheer team is also moving into their competition season. The varsity team will have their first competition at home on December 13th at 6:00. The JV is TBD.

The boys varsity hockey team will have their first official game on November 24th at 1:30 at the Alpena Northern Lights Arena. They will have a scrimmage before this on November 11th at 6:45 at Mount Clemens Ice Arena.

The boys varsity swim and dive team will have their first meet on December 8th at 5:00 at Warren Woods Tower High School.

Bowling is TBD.
