Lansing School Sport’s Protest!

During the hard times, such as our pandemic, some activities are put on pause. Such as the Governor shutting down our sports. On January 30, 2021, over 9,700 people joined hands for a peaceful protest, “Let Them Play,” in our capital Lansing. As contact sports are unable to go on till February 21, 2021, many of our participants are missing out on good opportunities to play the sport that they love the most. Thousands of high school coaches, player’s and even parents from all across Michigan all stood on the lawn on the capital and spoke out so their voices could be heard. Many players and coaches, that we may even know, went up and spoke out in front of thousands of people. According to the media, a mom spoke out and said, “I feel like a mom to 60,000 kids right now and I couldn’t be prouder of all of them for continuing to battle for their right to play organized youth sports. I’m fighting for all of them and we are working together to do what is right and let them play again.” As more things are starting to finally open up around the nation, sports are the one thing that is put on hold. Voices are heard and hearts will be fulfilled one day.
