Alarm is spreading around the world over a mysterious outbreak of a disease in central China that has been linked to a new coronavirus. The outbreak in Wuhan, a city of 11 million, that began in mid-December appears severe. Those affected with this disease often display severe symptoms of pneumonia. These include mainly fever, with some patients experiencing fatigue, a dry cough and difficulty breathing. 

The epidemic has entered a more serious and complex period. In China so far approximately more than 2,700 cases have been confirmed, with the death toll at around 80. 

To make matters worse the virus has spread to other nations as well. Cases have been confirmed in Europe, North America and several Asian countries, creating fears of a global pandemic during the Lunar New Year, China’s peak travel season. So far in the U.S. 5 cases have occurred with those affected having recently traveled to Wuhan, China.
