NFL History

Shaquem Griffin has made history once again!

At the 2018 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks drafted OLB Shaquem Griffin in the 5th round as the 4th pick. This may not seem very special, but Shaquem is the first NFL player in history to be drafted with one hand. Due to a prenatal condition, Griffin lost his left hand, and though this made some things difficult, it did not stop him from achieving his dreams.

Not only did Shaquem make history at the draft, he also made history at the NFL combine. He ran a 4.38 40-yard dash, which is the fastest time for a line backer since 2000 when Jon Alston ran a 4.40.

As if those rare records weren’t enough, Griffin joins his twin brother Shaquill in Seattle. Brothers drafted to the same NFL team has happened before, but it last occurred in 2001 when Kevin and Andre Dyson were selected by the Tennessee Titans.
