Dakota vs Stevenson Football Game Recap

       Last Week the Dakota Cougars gave an impressive performance dominating Stevenson High School 38-3, continuing there undefeated season. The scoring opened with #6, Ethan Hamby connecting with #5, Blake Garbarino for a touchdown. The Titans offense was halted with Anthony Coleman collecting a sack on the drive. With five minutes left in the first quarter Blake Garbarino secured his second touchdown of the game putting the cougars up 14-0. Closing out the first, #18 Dom Celestini tacked on a field goal to extend to a 17 point lead. The second quarter opened with #7, Calvin Watson carrying his first touchdown that built the gap to 23 points. Dakota’s Defense continued to put pressure on Stevenson’s offense, #50 Micheal Pittiglio sacked Stevensons quarterback on their own 22-yard line. Once again Calvin Watson carried in his second touchdown leading the team into halftime 31-0. Opening the third the Cougars defense continued there exceptional game against Stevenson’s offense keeping them away from the end zone with #8 Tyler Harper sacking the Titans quarterback. To close out the third #4 Joe Cacevic carried in the final touchdown for the Cougars. Stevensons offense continued to push on, with 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter they got into field goal range and kicked to end the scoring 38-3. Dakota’s dominate defensive performance was anchored by #7 Calvin Watson, #44 Austin Tuchowski, and #8 Tyler Harper leading in tackles. The Cougars balanced offensive attack (247 rushing yards and 245 receiving yards) was led by Joe Cacevic (152 yards) and the steading hand of quarterback Ethan Hamby (15/26, 245 yards, and two touchdowns). This week the Cougars go against there rivals Chippewa Valley, #4 Joe Cacevic answered a few questions about it.

Q- The Chippewa game is this week, Is the team preparing different for this game since it’s our rivalry game?

Joe Cacevic- Yeah, we are spending more time at practice, taking everything more seriously. The tempo at practice is different.

Q- Is the pressure of beating Chippewa different from every other game?

Joe Cacevic- No, it’s just a big rivalry game, we are gonna come out doing our best and I know they are going to do. We are both 4-0 on the season so it should be a really good game and I have high expectation.

Q- Do you have a ritual to get into a focused state before the game?

Joe Cacevic- Usually I just listen to music and we go into our pregame meetings after that I’m locked in for the game.

Q- What are your greatest strengths as a player?

Joe Cacevic- My strengths as a player is that I can break tackles, I’m illusive, and I’m fast.
