This year’s tournament is already off to a great start with some thrilling games and there are still many more games to go.
First off, one of the tournament’s first games was a thriller as 11 seed Loyola-Chicago upset 6 seed Miami (FL) yesterday on a buzzer beating 3-pointer by Donte Ingram. It was a close game throughout, and Miami looked like they were going to pull it out. Lonnie Walker of Miami than proceeded to miss the front end of a 1-and-1 set of free throws. This lead to a winning three by Ingram with 0.3 seconds left to lead Loyola-Chicago to the upset win.

In the nightcap, 11 seed San Diego State took on 6 seed Houston in an absolute thriller. It started with 1:08 to go with SDSU down 62-59. That’s when Devin Watson tied it with a three pointer to tie the game. Houston quickly responded when Rob Gray hit a three to take the lead back. SDSU then responded back to that with another Devin Watson three. Rob Gray then wound the rest of the clock down for Houston and made a layup with 1.1 seconds left to put Houston up two. SDSU proceeded missed a desperate heave to lose a thriller.
