Lady Cougars defeat Dexter Dreadnaughts!

Both the Varsity and JV teams defeated their Dexter opponents during their games on December 20th. That makes the JV record 6-1 while the Varsity team is undefeated, going 7-0.

The JV team’s final score was 38-30. The girls played hard throughout the game, especially when it came to defense, intimidating the Dreadnaughts. Number 44, Jada Reese, had the first basket of the game which came right after tip-off. The girls kept a steady lead most of the game, their biggest lead being 10 points.

The Varsity game, on the other hand, started off tight, with the girls going back and forth, trying to score points. But by the second half, the girls had gotten into their groove, beginning to distance themselves from the Dreadnaughts. The outstanding shooting by Tara Bieniewicz and Taylor Williams gave the Lady Cougars a great lead on their opponents, bringing the final score to 51-21. Cameron Grant went to the line multiple times giving the cougars a little extra cushion between them and the other team.

The Lady Cougars are having a great season, with each team giving their all on the court to get the win. The next JV game is Friday, January 5th on the main court at 5:30 and the Varsity game follows the JV with their starting time being 7:00. Come out and support the girls as much as you can. We love to see the support from the student body! Happy Holidays to everyone and GO COUGARS!!
