On Tuesday November 21st, I had the privilege to interview Lindsey Andersen. Lindsey is involved with many school activities such as: winter guard, and marching band. I was told that Lindsey has never spun a flag until she got to Dakota! Lindsey has an older brother, John, that was also in marching band before he graduated. She found out about color guard when she was at one of the Friday football games watching her brother in the marching band. Once she became a freshman, she joined the marching band to give it a try. Lindsey ended up falling in love with the sport before the end of her first season. This is where the love of winter guard also took place. She has been with the team for all four years of high school. Even though not all the teammates are close, she has made many new friends. When asked if she would recommend this sport to anyone I was told “Yes, they would have to be willing to push and work hard”.
