Dakota Competitive Cheer
On Tuesday, December 13th the Varsity Dakota Competitive Cheerleaders competed at home and took 1st place. There was a total of 9 teams there (5 varsity teams and 4 junior varsity teams). Our junior varsity team took 2nd place.
This was our junior varsity team’s first competition and they finished with a total score of 583.30. In round 1 they scored 201.1, in round 2 they scored 171.3, and in round 3 they scored 234.9. The girls worked very hard and accomplished everything they needed to, despite not getting the scores and place they really wanted, they left it all on the mat and gave it all they got.
The Varsity team finished with a total score of 763.4. In round 1 we scored 234.1, in round 2 we scored 224.6, and in round 3 we scored 304.7. We brought everything we worked on to the table and came back better than ever. After rounds 1 and 2 it was very close with Eisenhower. After round 3 and awards we found out that we won by .04 and in the cheer world that ONLY a pointed toe. We were all surprised and very proud of how much we have come in the matter of 2 months.
The Dakota Competitive Cheer program started in November and has made progress ever since. These 2 teams are unstoppable. Junior varsity season ends at the end of February and Varsity season ends in the beginning of March. Follow @Dakotcheer on Instagram to see when competitions are and come cheer the Dakota Cougars on!
