Monday January 2^nd the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals faced off in a Monday Night Football game in Cincinnati, Tee Higgins had the ball in his hands when Damar Hamlin went to go make the Tackle. It Looked like a normal tackle until Damar stood up and then collapsed to the floor, Damar Hamlin was out cold on the floor for about 16 minutes. The medical staff from both teams rushed out onto the field after seeing Damar go down the medical staff performed CPR and even afterwards he was still unconscious, an ambulance came onto the field to take Damar to the Hospital he was transferred to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was treated for cardiac arrest he had endured on the field after being hit. For a day or two Damar couldn’t breath on his own, for a while he had to be put on a breathing tube, doctors claim that his recovery was nothing short of a miracle for him to get where he is now. Damar is currently talking on his own and breathing on his own, Hamlin is allowed to leave the hospital in a couple of days.

Damar also has a go fund me site named The Chasing M’s Foundation Community Toy Drive had around $2,500 dollars in it since last Monday after his injury the GoFundMe site has raised over $8.5 million dollars. As the Buffalo Bills played the New England Patriots on Sunday they came out with a win and the team stated  “it felt like Damar was out there with us”. During the Patriot game while the Bills were playing Damar posted a picture of himself on Instagram saying how he was doing in the hospital letting the world know he was doing okay, NFL players wearing a 3 on their jersey got together before the game took a picture for Damar, NFL stadiums are also highlighting the number 3 on field honoring Damar. Hopefully Damar can make a full and healthy recovery and be all ready for next season.
