Seneca Football: Under the Lights

The Seneca 8th grade football team played under the lights at Dakota on October 23rd. The team had never played at the Dakota football stadium before, but they proved that they were unstoppable with a 42-14 victory!

Before the game, I interviewed several of the 2017 8th Grade Football Team players!

When asked how their undefeated season had went, Dario Lucci (#5) said, “We’ve  accomplished so many goals and worked together as a team. We’re actually not just a team, we are brothers.” When asked the same question, Max Jones (#18) said, “We all stick together as a team, as a family, and I think that’s why it’s been a good season.”

I asked about their predictions for their final game and Owen McDonald (#24) replied with, “This game will go well, but it will be a hard game to play due to the weather.” His prediction was proven true later in the day when it was down-pouring the whole game! Alec Knill (#71) said that “It’ll be a very physical game all around, and we will have to come up with the ball in the first half.” While interviewing Devan Walker, (#36) he had a very memorable quote. He said, “This game will go great. Really whether we lose or not, we will play hard as a team. It’s honestly a win-win.” Both boys were correct, and the game truly proved what a memorable season it has been.

I also asked Coach Young if there was anything he would like to say to the team, to which he replied, “Coaches for the 7th and 8th grade are very proud of their players and they’ve had a great season.”

Following the amazing win, I asked Francesco Gerardi (#68) how the game had gone.

He said, “God brought the rain; we brought the thunder.”

The Seneca 8th Grade Football team dominated the 10/23 game which led them to an undefeated season!
