Detroit to the Super Bowl?!
The Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals are set to face off at Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, February 13th at 6:30 p.m.
While most people are looking forward to the Super Bowl commercials, the people of Michigan are looking forward to a few familiar faces making appearances on the field.
Matthew Stafford, longtime Detroit Lions quarterback that was traded last year, has led the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl in his very first year with the team. It may not be typical of fans to root for a team that is not their own, let alone a player who has left their team, but the people of Detroit are rallying behind the Rams in hopes that Stafford will win the Vince Lombardi trophy this year. The Stafford family has done a lot for the Detroit community, and their commitment to better Michigan has left a long-lasting impression.
Along with Matthew Stafford, a different Detroit-native will be making an appearance… Marshall Mathers (aka Eminem)! He will be performing at the Super Bowl Halftime show along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige. Eminem is set to perform his greatest hits, and Michigan is on the edge of their seats!
Is this the closest Detroit will ever get to a Super Bowl?
