The Lions First Win
On Sunday, December 5th, the Detroit Lions won their first game of the 2021 season against the Minnesota Vikings. This brings their record to 1-10-1.
After leading 6-20 at halftime, the Lions were in a comfortable spot heading into the third quarter, or so they thought. To the dismay of hurting Detroit fans every, the Vikings fought back and with 1:50 left in the game, the Lions were losing 27-23.
The entire game was placed in QB Jared Goff’s hands (who has had a very disappointing start in Detroit). After a mixture of short passes, incomplete passes, and a penalty, Goff threw an 11 yard pass to wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for the game winning touchdown. The catch led to the first touchdown of his career. The ending score was 27-29 Lions.
Thunderous cheering erupted from Ford Field that had not been heard yet this season, almost as if a weight had been lifted off of Detroit fans’ shoulders. It was a great day to be a Lion’s fan.

That had to be a wonderfully miserable experience for Vikings fan.
