Atlanta Takes the 2021 World Series
On Tuesday, November 2nd, the Atlanta Braves broke a 25 year drought and finally won their first World Series title since 1995. The 2021 title is their fourth in total franchise history.
The Braves won the series in six games (4-2) against the Houston Astros, the team who eliminated them in the 2018 playoffs. The series was a constant back-and-forth battle as The Braves won Game 1 (6-2), the Astros won Game 2 (7-2), the Braves won Game 3 (2-0) and Game 4 (3-2), the Astros won Game 5 (9-5), and the Braves finally took home the title with the series winning Game 6 (7-0).
Atlanta’s Jorge Soler was given the title World Series MVP, who hit three home runs in the series.
The celebration parade took place on Friday, November 5th with the most notable event there being that a security guard believed the Brave’s pitcher Tyler Matzek, was a crazed fan, and nearly arrested him!
