Earth Only Has Till 2030?

Global Warming is becoming the new atomic bomb for the environment and we might not have enough time to stop it unless we act fast.

CNN reported just this week that “The report issued Monday by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC), says the planet will reach the crucial threshold of 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels by as early as 2030, precipitating the risk of extreme drought, wildfires, floods and food shortages for hundreds of millions of people.”

This is in your lifetime, your children’s lifetime, and possibly your grandchild’s lifetime. The mass production of plastic and non reusable goods is to blame. We Americans use 500 million A DAY, not a month not a year, A DAY. That a major problem EVERYONE needs to stop contributing too.

“Lowering emissions to this degree, while technically possible, would require widespread changes in energy, industry, buildings, transportation and cities, the report says.”(CNN)

If everyone would stop using plastic and non reusable goods we could possibly prevent this from happening and yes it is good to recycle but its not enough.

Buzzfeed recently made a video about how recycling isn’t good enough and doesn’t always get done. Only 9% of all plastic produced gets recycled. The plastic has to be processed, bailed, and put on the market. If someone doesn’t buy it it doesn’t get recycled. They get shipped off to landfills and polluting environments. Reducing your waste is really the best option for the environment and for you.

Living a non waste life style is actually a benefit to you too. Following non waste or vegan diets will produce less waste overall and a healthier you. Since you wouldn’t be eating mass produced saturated foods.

We know its not an over night change this could take a few month and i’m not telling you to become a vegan or anything. What you should take away from this is you’re helping kill this planet and you’re gonna pay the price and so will every generation after you.

Start small replace paper towels with hand towels, swap out plastic bottles for reusable steel or glass ones, and buy reusable straws! Small changes will make a big difference!
