Hurricane Florence
On August 31st, 2018, hurricane Florence formed scaring many people in North Carolina who ultimately ended up leaving town, yet many remained there awaiting the start of the storm. On September 14th, at 11:00 Am, Hurricane Florence made landfall. Florence is classified as a category 4 carrying winds of 90 mph. This hurricane has extreme rainfall, and with that comes extreme flooding. Florence brought 20 to 30 inches of rain with it. North and South Carolina were heavily affected as well as parts of West Virginia.
As far as death toll goes, it is reported that 36 people have died in North Carolina, and 42 people in parts of South Carolina. This hurricane was very serious and lasted almost three weeks. September 19th was the official end date of Florence. By now, hopefully everyone has returned safely to their homes with their loved ones and can finally be done with Florence once and for all.
