Tragedy in Grant Park
On September 1st, around 1:30 PM, a fatal stabbing occurred in Utica Michigan. A man, approximately in his fifties, was attending his grandchild’s first birthday party in Grant Park, when he noticed a man, who looked suspicious to him, sitting on a bench doing drugs. Upon approaching him, he asked him if he could stop since there were kids in the park. When asking, the man became extremely outraged and pinned him to the ground, and then went on to fatally stab him repeatedly with a large knife about 15 times.
Reportedly eight months prior to this stabbing, Miguel Mansour, age 22 from Sterling Heights Michigan, was released from a psychiatric facility. Miguel was diagnosed with “mood disorder with suicidal intention” by the doctor who examined him. According to him, Miguel was very suicidal.
This type of occurrence is very rare for a town like Utica Michigan. Because of that residents are very concerned and surprised. Although, Police are still investigating the situation.
