Welcome Prince Louis!
On Monday, April 23, at promptly 11:01 am Prince William and Princess Kate’s third child was born at St. Mary’s Hospital, weighing 8lb., 7oz. His full name is: His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge. Just hours after his birth, Prince Louis’ mom, Kate was leaving the hospital dressed in a stunning red dress and waving to the crowd that had gathered outside the hospital. The birth of a new son into the royal family shifts things a bit in the line for the throne. Currently, the next in line after Prince Charles is Prince William the Duke of Cambridge, and then his kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and the newest addition, Prince Louis. What is interesting about Prince Louis’ birth is that Princess Charlotte will not lose her place in line for the throne. The system was altered a few years ago to make this possible because previous rules had said if the third child, in William and Kate’s case, was a male, he would overtake their daughter’s place in line. It is said in July we will get another glimpse of the royal baby as July is supposedly when his christening will be held. As for now we send congratulations to the Dutchess Kate and Duke of Cambridge on their new happy, healthy, baby boy.
