Michigan’s Magical Christmas Towns

These are five of Michigan’s most famous Christmas attractions during the holiday season. These attractions are located all around the entire state and get highly populated by families each year to buy gifts, participate in fun activities, and get into the holiday spirit.


Detroit

Downtown, you will find Christmas carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family activities, ice skating, and music performances. All of the festives start on December 5th.

Grand Rapids

During the holiday season in Grand Rapids, there are Christmas shopping outlets, winter sports, ice skating at the Rosa Parks Circle, and performances of The Nutcracker, and A Christmas Story the Musical.

Christmas

This town that is actually called “Christmas” started out as a factory for making holiday gifts in the 1930s.  It is a small town outside f the upper peninsula of Michigan that is filled with business all dedicated to the holiday season.

Traverse City

Traverse City’s holiday season starts on December 4th. There are many shops and Christmas decorated restaurants, holiday fun, hundreds of musical performances, family activities, and winter sports, such as skiing, snow shoeing, and snowmobile rides.

Holland

Holland, Michigan has an annual parade of lights, more than 80 bands that perform holiday music, Christmas floats, and Christmas light decorated vehicles. All of the holiday activities start on December 1st.
