Marching Into Reading Month!
March is Reading Month! Though books are something that should be celebrated every day, Reading Month is a time to really focus on the wonders and adventures that literature provides us. Our very own Dakota High School is involved in all sorts of events to help ring in reading month.
Battle of the Books
Dakota and Chippewa Valley will once again compete to see which school can check out the highest number of books from their media centers. At the end of each week in March, the number of checked-out books will be tallied to see which school obtained the highest number that week. You can do your part to help Dakota win by checking out a book today!
An Extra Incentive
There is another incentive to getting books from the school library besides helping to pick up a win over Chippewa. Students will also earn a raffle ticket when they check out a book from the media center. At the end of each week, the winner will be announced. Those who win will receive a $10 Barnes & Noble gift card! This is taking place all throughout March, so be sure to take a trip to the media center.
Book Fair
Another one of Dakota’s exciting Reading Month festivities will be the book fair! Just like in the past, the fair will be held at the Barnes & Noble on Hall Road. This year’s fair will take place on March 18th and is a great way to find new books to read.
Happy reading everyone!
