Here is why you might see a hazy sky this weekend in Michigan as Western wildfire smoke is headed our way!!
The National Weather Service (NWS) has been tracking wildfire smoke, and it may be heading our way.
According to the National Interagency Fire Center in their most recent report, there are currently 97 large fires that have burned 900,282 acres in nine states.
NWS reports the smoke from these fires is pushing into the Midwest.
The National Weather Service says, “at this time, it appears as though the smoke will stay aloft and not mix down to the surface over Upper Michigan this weekend.”
There is only a moderate air quality concern for those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
So, don’t be surprised tomorrow if you notice a hazy sky tomorrow as smoke aloft from the wildfires out west pushes into the area. Only moderate air quality concerns for people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution. #scwx #ncwx #gawx pic.twitter.com/pM8Fnagntc
