A new escape room opens in Westland
In the old Eloise Asylum in Westland, MI, for this Friday the 13th, they have converted parts of the asylum into an escape room.
The hospital itself was established in 1839 and had housed over ten thousand patients and over 2000 staff members during its time of operation. It was the biggest hospital in the United States at one time. However, it closed in 1984 due to the state taking over.
Since then, parts of it have been demolished and only a few buildings of the campus stand. The buildings that remain have a reputation for being haunted, if you’re into that kind of stuff. The owners of the asylum now offer historical and paranormal tours weekly, as well as ghost hunts on the weekends from 7pm-3am. During the Halloween season, it gets converted into a haunted house.
And now, their new tourist attraction is an escape room. Opening just in time for Friday the 13th, the escape room is 60 minutes long in a multi-room with live actors. The goal is to escape before you become the next victim of the haunted asylum. You can reserve a time for groups 4-10 on weekends from noon- 10:30pm on their website www.eloiseasylum.com
