The Ingraham Angle Parent Portal and Indoctrination

Yesterday on fox news, the Ingraham Angle showed a submission from a mother in our high school complaining about a teacher. She is a 10th grade English teacher. In our curriculum, the American dream is discussed at this time of year.

“..my child’s teacher (on the first day of school said that she ‘DOES NOT’ believe in the American Dream”

“That her husband makes more money than her…. my student tried to get out of her class but was told others have had trouble with her..”

Many agree with the notion that teachers should not share “political opinions” about the American Dream and oppression. Students, however, have the opposite opinion.

“I think the teacher didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. It wasn’t opinions it was facts. The American Dream is not political.”

” I feel like the mom who reported it was dramatic because people can have opinions. It isn’t a big deal.”

“I think it’s just parents being overprotective. Teachers are people too.”

No matter what your opinion is on the situation at hand, I believe we should all be a little more understanding of people’s personal opinions. If we show interest in others, I believe that this community can truly thrive.
