Dakota’s Homecoming Weekend: Out Of This World!
The victorious game against Utica Ford II brought upon a positive omen for Dakota’s Homecoming weekend. The Cougars won 55-10 on Friday, September 29th, the crowd in tie dye and neon supporting them with cheers. The football game was the highlight of the weekend for many students. Zachary Stachowski, an eleventh grader, expressed that his favorite part of the weekend was the game. He explained, “I got to enjoy being with my friends and watching the game.” Another junior, Isabella Grupenhoff, had similar feelings. She told The Dakota Planet, “my favorite part of the weekend was the game because I got to hang out with all my friends and we all had a lot of fun.” The rambunctious student section, though it seems chaotic, is a fun and energizing time for most students. There were other highlights, however. A senior, Maicie Gladieux, explained, “my favorite part was getting ready and hanging out with my friends before the dance. It’s my senior year, so I liked making those memories with them so I can remember them after high school.” Shania Sutton, eleventh grade, enjoyed the dance the most as well. She explained that, “I got to spend time with my friends and see everyone dressed up and looking so pretty and handsome!” Whether the game, the dance, the Cougarfest, or the after-parties were the student body’s favorite, one thing stood true for all: everyone was able to spend time with friends and enjoy their weekend united as a school. The connection between students, shown through the volunteering for Cougarfest, the supporting of the players at the game, and the sweaty locked arms dancing in the atrium, made the weekend truly out of this world.
