Thoughts About Returning To School

The governor’s recent announcement suggested high school students in Michigan can return to face to face learning in January. At first, I was excited to finally get some normalcy back into my senior year, but it comes with some hesitation as well. I’ve often wondered if the curriculum for each of my classes would have been the same if we had been attending school face to face all school year. If the curriculum has been different due to remote learning what happens now? Will we be expected to endure a heavier workload to try and catch up the second half of the year? I am sure remote learning posed many challenges to our teachers but I feel that returning to face to face learning will be even more difficult for them to adjust their lesson plans to build on what has been taught thus far but also finish the year strong to ensure we have all benefited and are prepared for the next chapter of our lives.
