It’s not new that Elon Musk had recently been smoking weed on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, but why are multiple news outlets freaking out about it? As seen in the podcast footage, Elon Musk hit the blunt once and yet it is such a big issue. CNN came out with a story regarding Elon Musk’s actions during the podcast with a wonderful headline, “Elon Musk smokes weed, drinks whiskey, and wields flamethrower.” This did happen during the podcast, but to exaggerate the situation to the point where it sounds as though he did this all simultaneously, is completely ridiculous. 

I find it very funny how CNN seems to set his double standard as a month prior to “Elon Musk setting a bad example,” Demi Lovato had an overdose on prescriptions. CNN published a story about Demi Lovato’s overdose where they sympathize the singer’s drug abuse. So, in a way, the people that are attacking Elon Musk for hitting a blunt one time are supporting Demi Lovato’s prescription pill abuse. They claim she’s going through an “emotional and mental hardship”, which seems to be scape goat at this point as she had overdosed on multiple occasions over the Summer.
