Best Places to Visit in South Africa

Africa is a huge continent, the second largest in the world covering an area of 30.2 million square kilometers. It has a great history and beautiful scenery. Africa is home to some of the most breathtaking wildlife. When people think of Africa most people think of poverty, disease, and political instability. While some parts of Africa do face these issues that is not how the whole continent is. Depending on where you want to visit in Africa there are many different great sights to see. Africa is an amazingly beautiful place and a dream of mine to visit.

Safari

Kruger National Park and Surrounds

Kruger National Park is home to the famous big 5 animals, elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo. That is not even all they have multiple other species such as, antelope species, warthogs, ostriches, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, cheetahs, wild dogs, and many others. This is the perfect place for a safari to see the beautiful wildlife of south Africa.

Madikwe Game Reserve

Madikwe Game Reserve is also home to all the famous big 5 animals, but they also have the highly endangered African wild dog. There are luxurious safari lodges and camps perfect for families.

Phinda Private Game Reserve

Phinda private game reserve is most famous for its cheetah sightings and has extremely luxurious safari lodges.

Tswalu Kalahari Reserve

Tswalu gives a little bit of a different experience than Kruger and other parks because of the diverse ecosystem.

Eastern Cape Safari Parks

Eastern cape safaris are a much greener area than the Kruger national park. It is also one of south Africa’s most underdeveloped provinces.

Simons Town/False Bay

Simons town is the place to go if you are looking for the beach. It is famous for its gorgeous beaches and captivating history. Simons town is also uniquely home to a colony of African penguins.

Hermanus

Hermanus is a perfect place to go on vacation at, located on the southern coast of the Western Cape. Hermanus is the perfect place for fabulous land and boat-based whale watching.

Garden Route

The Garden Route is a perfect mix of everything. There is a mix of gorgeous beaches, iridescent lagoons, forests, and welcoming towns.

Johnnesburg is one of Africa’s major cities. It is also the capital of both south and sub-Saharan Africa. Most of the major south African companies and banks have their head offices here. Johnnesburg is nicknamed the city of gold because of large-scale gold and Diamond trade. If you are looking for the best nightlife this is the place to come.
