Can’t Beat the Boat
A hot take on hot lunch: The Boat.
There is often controversy whether school lunch is good or not. But no argument can be made against the best lunch offered in the Dakota High School cafeteria- The Boat.
The Boat is a base of creamy mashed potatoes, layered with tender popcorn chicken, coated with a ladle of warm, thick gravy and topped with a scope of delicious corn. It is served in a paper food tray of which the scrumptious meal got its name- a Boat.
But the fun doesn’t stop there, The Boat is served with a dinner roll, that is always soft and fresh, and butter to spread on top of it. And if this isn’t already a sizeable school lunch, students can still grab a juice and a fruit or vegetable to go along with it! Kids will never leave the lunchroom feeling hungry after The Boat like they might after some school lunches.
Most importantly, The Boat never comes with the disappointment of getting tater tots instead of mashed potatoes. And the tater tots that come with chicken nuggets are nothing like the side you can purchase for a dollar- those are crisp and yummy- the side of tots are soggy and rancid. Every Wednesday that is a Chicken Nugget Day instead of a Boat Day, students run the risk of getting soggy, cold tater tots instead of delicious, soft, warm, gravy filled mash due to alternating sides. The Boat is consistent and reliable.
Be sure to keep up with the cafeteria menu so you do not miss the Wednesdays that are Boat Days. You will never be disappointed when you purchase The Boat.
You heard it here- we, the Dakota Planet Staff, promote The Boat!
