FINDING PEACE NOT HAPPINESS

FINDING PEACE NOT HAPPINESS

Life can be rough. Plain and simple. I am not wise enough to know the difference or at least know anything at all. I am just 17. We all feel and remember what we have gone throughThinking if anyone feels the same. A lot of the time, personally, I remember the bad. Good moments feel fleeting. Just like everyone else, have had my fair share of challenging timesWhich I probably bring up too much, or maybe not enough. The one thing I have come to realize is that happiness is just an emotion. That may seem obvious, but for some, like myself, it becomes the destination of your dreams. An emotion is how individuals deal with situations they find significant on a personal level. I thought happiness was a long-term feeling, that was kind enough to stick around, but it does not. True growth comes from a journey, the emotional roller coaster, and long deep dives into your psyche. Throughout the tough things we have been through, moving on is not the only thing, we must find peace within it, or within ourselves. Peace in your mind and peace in your soul and your body. Allowing yourself to feel the emotion can bring clarity. My goal of finding happiness has simply slipped away and I am allowing myself now to take that journey. I am now finding peace not happiness. This does not mean peace equals happiness. Allowing yourself to be at peace can let feelings flow through your body without judgement and being at peace is the least I can do for myself
