Among Us is an online multiplayer game. It came out in 2018 but due to a long summer in quarantine, its player count exploded and became popular in 2020. The goal of the game is to complete all the tasks around the map taking on impostors or the role of crewmate. It’s a game of survival and players can be voted off. The game has gotten so popular in 2020 that in August, the developers announced the release of Among Us 2. However, it was cancelled it a month later with the decision to continue improving the original version. Last month there were articles released that this popular game was hacked. The hack had nothing to do with taking any player’s personal information but rather consisted of spamming the game and producing political ads favoring Trump, as well as rendering the game useless. In late October, the developer, InnerSloth, tightened security so their players could continue without disruption. Regardless, InnerSloth, suggest their players play with people they trust or private game as added security.
