Streaming services implement "premium subscriptions"

Streaming services such as Disney+ and HBO have implemented “premium” versions of their platforms. Costumers already pay the monthly fees for basic streaming/ HBO now, but will soon have to pay even more. The purpose of these premium subscriptions is that these sites will make money off of new movies that would usually be shown in theaters. Disney+ announced that the new live action “Mulan” movie will only be available through Disney+ premium. On HBO costumers can watch basic movies with an HBO now plan, but will miss out on a lot without paying for the new HBO max.

This is a clever way for platforms to makeup the money they would have lost from movie theaters being closed. However, movies that costumers previously had access to as well as new movies and shows won’t be available without paying extra.
