How to Make an Abstract Painting for Room Decor in 5 Easy Steps
Looking to update your walls with something different? Try this super cheap and simple way to create awesome art you’ll be proud of!
Step 1: Purchase your supplies-
You only need a few things: a canvas, at least 3 different colors of acrylic paint, and saran wrap. All of these can be found at your local grocery store.
Step 2: Set up your workspace-
Lay down saran wrap to catch all the mess, unwrap the canvas, and open the paint.
Step 3: Pour acrylic paint on the canvas in a tie-dye pattern-
Starting from the middle, take your first color of paint and start making a spiral. Continue the spiral with the other colors you picked until the whole canvas is covered. Get creative with the colors you pick! I did one with red, orange, yellow, green and dark purple and another canvas with green, turquoise, pink and purple.
Step 4: Place a piece of saran wrap over the canvas and use your hands to spread it around-
This is what creates the abstract type ripple look to the painting.
Step 5: Carefully peel the saran wrap off the canvas and let it dry-
You can also optionally add glitter to the painting before it dries for a fun look!
That’s it, you’re done! Enjoy your new décor you can brag about to your friends!
