Highschool….
Now, don’t get me wrong: it is never too early to start thinking about colleges, but keep in mind, it is important to take it easy with the stress of deciding. Seniors: were getting closer and closer to those application deadlines, so yes, we do need to get our stuff together, but do remember to enjoy your senior year. Everyone’s telling us its going to fly by, and look, we’re already approaching November! It can be stressful, but we need to remember to keep our cool, relax a little bit. I mean c’mon we’re at homestretch, we can do it! Quit pulling your hair out over a test or how much homework you got…you’ll graduate, stop stressing. Juniors and other underclassmen: like I said, yes it’s important to begin thinking about schools, but, you guys are still young, enjoy your high school days. Surprisingly, and trust me on this one, you guys will do a lot of growing within these next couple months. Honestly my Sophomore/ Junior year is when I seemed to change the most, maybe it was because of the new friends I had, or maybe it was because I truly just mentally grew up. But, you guys will defiantly be seeing new sides of yourself, and hopefully it will be for the better. Don’t stress about it though, it happens we grow we learn. Just don’t focus every aspect of life on your school work, ITS IMPORTANT, SCHOOL WORK IS VERY IMPORTANT, but don’t let it consume you. Oh, and Juniors… do not schedule an SAT retake every Saturday, oh my god just don’t do it; seriously, who are you kidding… And as for all of us, it’s okay to put the books down for a weekend or two… or three! It’s okay, I promise you’ll be okay; I get it, you have a huge math test on Monday, but that doesn’t mean you should stay at home cramming information in your brain. We both know you’re just going to forget everything you looked at over the weekend. Just go have fun, you’ll feel a million times better if you just forget about school for a couple hours! I’m not going to add statistics and facts like ‘ scientists have proven that teenagers need 8 plus hours of sleep to preform well in class’, because like, we all know. Are we going to do anything about it? No, I’m sorry but I got to see what’s happening on every social media app I have, and by that time its already midnight. Besides the point, ANYWAYS, point is quit stressing, we have time, there’s lots of time! You don’t NEED to know what you want to do the rest of your life, you don’t NEED to know what college you’re going to. Go to Macomb for a year or two, start thinking then. Ya’ll you got time!!! Please do everyone a favor and chill the helllll outtt!
DISCLAIMER: IM NOT SAYING SCHOOL ISN’T IMPORTANT, THIS IS MORE OF AN OPINIONATED PIECE, THIS IS MY ADVISE TO YOU. THIS IS WHAT I’VE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS, IT IS YOUR DECISION TO TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.
