Stop the Bleed
The “Stop the Bleed” campaign was created by Mikaylyn Grewe, Trinity Granzow, Madeline Aude, and Madeline Fuller to help prepare students in the event of a school shooting. The HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) club seniors were inspired by the Parkland school shooting and that school shootings are becoming more frequent in the common. “Stop the Bleed” teaches bystanders how to apply pressure to bullet wounds during a school shooting. The girls have also created bracelets and candy wrappers with the Safe Schools Hotline on it. “We asked teachers about their opinions on the new ADD (Avoid, Deny, Defend) system in place and what could be changed,” said Trinity. Madeline Fuller commented that their main purpose was to “spread awareness and to start prevention.”
