Earlier this month, there was talk by one of the co-founders of vine, Dom Hofmann, of a possible follow up app similar to vine. The news broke out when Hofmann tweeted, “I’m going to work on a follow-up to vine. I’ve been feeling it myself for some time and have seen a lot of tweets, dms, etc”. He also tweeted a picture of the vine logo with a 2 next to it, with the caption “v2” which could possibly be the name for his new app. The tweet received over 195,000 retweets and over 426,000 likes, which goes to show how missed vine really is. Hofmann has been updating his twitter regularly with news and ideas about the upcoming app. He says the new app will have three principles: To give an equal voice to every artist, to be as generous as possible to each artist, and to foster a civilized, kind, inclusive, and absolutely non-toxic environment. He’s also stated that he wants a “nope” button to help shape your timeline to only show what you want it to show. For now, that is all we know about the new app, but Hofmann says he will continue to update the community whenever he can.
