Update from Zachary Veal: "A Cooling Hump Day along with a Frost Advisory Overnight Tonight"

THIS MORNING: Happy “Hump Day” morning, Metro Detroit!! Partly cloudy skies and mild too around Metro Detroit along with both morning temperatures rising from the upper 50s early on into the upper 60s later on and winds picking up NNW/NNE at 5-13 mph as both you and your kids commute to both work and school.

TODAY: Mostly sunny skies, mild, and breezy too around Metro Detroit along with both daytime high temperatures rising into the upper 60s and breezy conditions too NNE at 7-17 mph, gusting 20-25 mph, at times too!

THIS EVENING: Mostly sunny skies, cooling, and still breezy too around Metro Detroit along with both temperatures falling from the low 60s early on into the 50s later on and breezy conditions too NNE at 5-15 mph, gusting 15-20 mph, at times too!

TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies and very cool too around Metro Detroit along with both overnight low temperatures dropping down into the low 40s in our Metro Zone or in our Urban Heat Island, as former meteorologist from WDIV or Local 4 News in Downtown Detroit Paul Gross liked to say, but likely flirting with the upper 30s to right around 40F outside of our Urban Heat Island in our typically cooler rural areas. And not to mention that parts of Metro Detroit will be under a Frost Advisory, including Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac, and St. Clair counties starting at 2am EST tonight and expiring at 8am EST tomorrow, Thursday May 25th, due to both near-freezing temperatures and patchy frost which could kill sensitive plants if left uncovered. So, do both you and your family yourselves a favor and either bring in your potted plants into the garage, if you can, before you head to bed to keep them warm. But if you cannot do that, then remember to cover them up before heading to bed.

TOMORROW: A mostly clear and frosty start to your Thursday around Metro Detroit as we will both get up and get going for either work, for the parents, or for school, for the kids, to morning low temperatures starting out in the low 40s in our Metro Zone, and in the upper 30s in our typically cooler rural areas. But thankfully, the afternoon hours should warm up rather quickly under abundant sunshine along with both daytime high temperatures flirting with the middle 60s and much lighter winds NE at only 5-12 mph.

FRIDAY: An absolute beauty of a “Finally Friday” around Metro Detroit as we will be under abundant sunshine once again along with daytime high temperatures rising into the low 70s as we wrap up both this work and this school week.

THIS WEEKEND: This is a 3-day weekend, for most, as Memorial Day 2023 will occur on Monday, so this weekend’s forecast is critical as folks will be either flying or driving, especially up North. So, here we go. Saturday afternoon should be under mostly sunny skies along with daytime high temperatures rising into the upper 70s. Then, Sunday as both you and your family commute both to and from both morning church services and brunch, we will be under partly cloudy skies as daytime high temperatures will flirt with 80F. And finally, Monday (which again, is Memorial Day 2023, by the way) will be under partly cloudy skies once again along with daytime high temperatures soaring into the low 80s. So, excellent weather indeed to grill hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, chicken wings, and much more out on your grills.

Enjoy the rest of your “Hump Day,” or Wednesday, Metro Detroit!!
