Summer Fun!
Looking for something to do this summer? Consider camping and look no further than Port Huron KOA. The 70 acres camping resort has something for everyone and it’s less than an hour from our homes here in Macomb Township. You can start by selecting an RV campsite, tent site or one of the large selections of cabins or cottages. They provide over 400 sites for campers to experience the great outdoors with the magic of numerous amenities.
The cabins and cottages range from a rustic experience to camping luxury. Many are equipped with a full kitchen, multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor patios with furniture designed to embrace relaxation and welcome family and friend gatherings designed to create memories.
Once you get your site set up, the activities are endless and sure to keep you enjoying every moment throughout your stay. You can head to one of three pools located at the resort for a day of summer fun. Pools are equipped with lounge chairs and table sets. There are pools of different depths to accommodate children to adults. Restrooms with showering stalls are onsite at the pools for camper’s convenience. The activities center has bumper boats, putt-putt golf, go-carts, batting cages, basketball hoops, water wars and a large water slide. Many sports courts are available for the basketball and tennis lovers.
Pets are welcome and they even have a designated dog park for our furry friends. If you feel like shopping, check out Frontier Town. The shops have items for camping, various apparel, fun outdoor items and much more. There is a pizza parlor with seating inside or you can order to go and eat it at your campsite. You must visit one of the three ice cream stores scattered throughout the campground. There are endless yummy options for selection. There is a snack shack where you can order nachos, fries, cheese sticks, pretzels, and many other items to tide you over until meals are served.
Banana bikes are a popular choice for many kids of all ages. You can rent them by the day or hour. It allows you to take your own tour of the campground and you won’t be disappointed. There are many sites to see and trails to ride on. This campground puts safety first for its campers so you can rest assured everyone knows walkers and riders have the right of way. Don’t forget to visit the arcade. There are numerous video games and a pool table. There is a wagon ride offered during the evening that takes you on a tour of the campground and don’t miss out on the train ride that goes around the perimeter of the resort. Golf carts are for rent should you prefer to travel in comfort throughout the campground.
Port Huron KOA is only 15 minutes from downtown and Lake Huron. If you want to escape the resort and travel the surrounding area you will find excellent fishing spots, free concerts, and movies in the park. There is a lot to keep the excitement going both in town and at the campground.
After all the days fun you’ll want to cozy up at your campsite and have a campfire. The campground sells wood and even delivers it right to your camp site. The fire pits have a grill so you can make all your meals over the campfire. You can start the day with grilling bacon, eggs, and bagels. During the day it’s easy to throw on some hotdogs for lunch and for dinner grill up some hamburgers. Tonka pies are a favorite. You’ll need a tonka pie iron, bread and the rest are up to your imagination. You can make breakfast sandwiches; any lunch sandwich and a fan favorite are the pizza tonka pies. You can build your own mini pizzas, have fun placing them in the fire and simply enjoy. Don’t forget the marshmallows. No camping experience is complete without ending the evening with a toasted marshmallow or you can kick it up a notch and make a smore.
If you prefer a kitchen experience, they have kitchen areas set up throughout the campground fully equipped with a stove, sink and picnic tables. All the conveniences of home placed outside in nature.
