Things to Do In Detroit during the Spring
Detroit Michigan is beautiful in the springtime. The city is known as the Motor City and offers plenty of opportunities to explore its history. Here are some of the top fun things to do in Detroit during the Springtime.
Belle Isle
Belle Isle Park is a 982- acre island park located in the Detroit River between the United States and Canada. Thers is a zoo, an aquarium, botanical gardens, and more. There are also beautiful cherry blossom trees in full bloom for you to enjoy.
Motown Museum
Motown Museum is the perfect destination for music lovers. It is located in the hitsville USA building. The history of Motown records and its artists are displayed throughout the museum. What is so great about going in the springtime is that the museum hosts a variety of events. Live performances and workshops will be held at the museum.
Detroit Institute of arts
the Detroit Institute of arts is a world class museum that features more than 60,000 works of art from around the world. The detroit Inn suit of arts features a van Gogh exhibit but you do have to pay extra for this. during the spring time, the museum hosts special events and exhibits. The annual Detroit film theaters Oscar shorts and the flower day weekend are two examples.
Detroit riverwalk
walking or biking along the Detroit River walk can be a scenic experience. The Detroit Riverwalk is a bike path that runs along the Detroit river. while going down this path, you will encounter beautiful sites such as the city skyline. during the spring time, there is a newly opened section of the Riverwalk, art, scape, and interactive public art installation.
eastern market
Eastern market is a historic public market that features a variety of foods. Eastern market has outdoor sheds that you can explore during the springtime and enjoy live music and entertainment. It also hosts a popular flower day event, where you can purchase different kinds of flowers and plants.
Tiger game
Spring is the start of baseball season. There is no better time to go to Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers and watch a baseball game. The stadium has a Ferris wheel and other fun attractions as well as food and drink options.
Heidelberg project
the Heidelberg project is a unique outdoor art installation. There are colorful and whimsical sculptures and murals throughout a two-block area of Heidelberg Street in Detroit east side. You can explore this yourself or sign up for a guided tour to learn facts behind the art.
in conclusion, Detroit has a lot of different attractions to do during the springtime. While not all of these things are outdoors, that can sometimes be good, because spring does not always have the warmest weather. There is a little bit of something for everyone in the city to enjoy and so much history. Detroit is a perfect physically up place to explore, especially if you have not done so before.
