Update from Zachary Veal: “Freeze Warning tonight through tomorrow morning!!”
A “Freeze Warning” will go into effect for Genesee, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties starting at 2:00am EST tonight and expiring at 8:00am EST tomorrow, Wednesday April 26th, 2023 due to sub-freezing temperatures dipping as low as 28F expected. So, if both you and your family have any sensitive plants that you may have outdoors, now would be a great time to either cover them up or bring them indoors so they can stay both nice and warm and not die from the freeze.
THIS EVENING: Mainly mostly cloudy skies with perhaps some numerous showers early on become more scattered in nature later on around Metro Detroit along with both temperatures remaining in the low 40s and very light winds S ~ 5 mph.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies along with some areas of frost too around Metro Detroit along with both overnight low temperatures dipping down into the middle 30s in our Metro Zone, or in our Urban Heat Island, as former WDIV meteorologist Paul Gross liked to say, but likely dipping down into the low 30s outside of our Urban Heat Island in our typically cooler rural areas, and winds both light and variable.
TOMORROW: A partly cloudy and frosty start to your “Hump Day,” or Wednesday, around Metro Detroit as we will both get up and get going for either work, for the parents, or for school, for the kids, to morning low temperatures starting out in the middle 30s in our Metro Zone, and in the low 30s outside of our Metro Zone. So, layer up both kids and parents! But the afternoon hours should be under partly cloudy skies along with both daytime high temperatures only in the low 50s and light winds WNW at only 5-10 mph.
THURSDAY: We will likely wake up first thing Thursday morning to more frosty conditions as morning low temperatures will start out on either side of freezing. But the afternoon hours on Thursday should be under partly cloudy skies once again as daytime high temperatures will rise into the upper 50s.
FRIDAY: Mainly mostly cloudy skies with some rain too around Metro Detroit to round out both this work and this school week along with daytime high temperatures again in the upper 50s just like on Thursday.
THIS WEEKEND: The final weekend of April 2023 will likely be a soggy one as on Saturday, we look to be under mainly mostly cloudy skies with even some more rain possible as daytime high temperatures will hit 60F. But on your Sunday (which by the way, is the very last day of April 2023) as both you and your family commute both to and from both morning church services and brunch, we will be under mainly mostly cloudy skies with yet even more rain possible as daytime high temperatures will start to slip down into the middle-to-upper 50s. So, please stay tuned as we are not totally locked in on this weekend’s rain chances.
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, Metro Detroit!!
