After four years, John Mulaney is making a return to Netflix with his new comedy special! “Baby J” is the name of this new show, which was announced officially on Mulaney’s Instagram. Coming on April 25th, this special is apparently full of “obnoxious, wasteful, and unlikeable” stories, which has fans excited and eager at the prospect of hearing the details and specifics of the things that John has been up to in the years leading up to this special. With a public divorce and short stint in rehab, there’s not a lot of doubt as to what the focus of these stories will be.  

With John having been on tour for the past year with his show “From Scratch”, and his time in-between shows has been spent travelling and spending time with his one-year-old son Malcomb and girlfriend Olivia Munn. Overall, it’s been a busy year for Mulaney and his fans alike.  

The three comedy specials that Mulaney already have on Netflix can be credited for his spike in popularity at the beginning of 2020 quarantine, when many teenagers were sent home from school and looking for something to do. The shows were watched for the laughs, and then John Mulaney subsequently became very popular with the high school age group. His social standing continued to rise and then fall, as trends do, and is rising again due to the excitement of the new show.  

John Mulaney is known for his witty stories and socially awkward situations that he’s gotten into throughout his life. His humor is unproblematic and simple to understand, perfect for high school aged kids through adults.
