Two Halves Make a Whole
Love.
I never understood the true meaning of love
But was there ever a true understanding
Love is such a broad concept
Something not one word can describe
Love is made up of a multitude of things
I love the way the sun warms my sheets in the morning
I love you and you love me
I love the smell of fresh flowers
I could surround myself in daises
Love isn’t you
Love isn’t me
Love is the world
The undiscovered
The simple
Sometimes love is holding the door open
I love the way my mind thinks when I write a poem
My poems resonate love
I love you more than the world
I’ll love you until the stars never show again
I’ll love you until the air turns thin and we know it’s our last breath
I want my last breath to be with you
We share the same air
We share the same drink
We share stories
And our love for animals
They say opposites attract
I always imagined being with someone who loves cats like me
You love dogs more than anything though
Books will fill every area of my room
Even though they aren’t your favorite
And you will never read them
You listen to me ramble about my favorite movies
You call them stupid
But you continue to ask me about it while it plays
I like heavy metal
And you like rap
Nothing wrong with that
I have never imagined my other half to be opposite from me
Two halves make a whole
And you complete me
