Romance Reads

There is billions of books that exist but in the recent years teens and young adults have become obsessed with a new era of romance books. I’ve read over 400 books in the last 3 years and these are some my top favorite romance books.

The Right Move by Liz Tomforde is the second part in Liz’s series, the Windy City. This story starts in the city of Chicago with a girl named Indy, she finds her ex-boyfriend cheating on her leaving her without a apartment. Indy’s best friend Stevie asks her NBA star brother, Ryan if she could move in with him. Ryan only cares about two thing and that is his little sister and basketball. Ryan reluctantly lets Indy move in with her but she is a hot mess compared to his low key and very organized life. Ryan is the biggest name in the NBA currently was just promoted to captain but the general manager sees him as unapproachable and a loner. Ryan makes up a lie that he got a girlfriend to make it seem to his manager that he has a personality and family but the thing is Ryan definitely doesn’t have a girlfriend, he hasn’t in years. Indy becomes his fake girlfriend and Indy only agrees if he will take her to her childhood best friends wedding. In this book Ryan goes through a lot, learning how to lose control and let people into his life, Indy learns how to take control of her life and be alone for once. In The Right Move you fall in love with both Indy and Ryan.

Hotshot Doc by R.S. Grey is a standalone surgeon and assistant romance book. The main character Bailey Jennings might have entertained the idea of studying medicine at a point many years ago. But at the age of twenty, her parents were killed and she became the guardian of her little sister, Josie. Never for a minute did she regret her choice. She loves her sister and they have a wonderful relationship. Now, Bailey is a surgical assistant to a wonderful doctor in the spinal department. Only, her perfect boss is retiring. There is only one other doctor in their department that needs a new assistant and he is the very last doctor Bailey wants to work for. Dr. Matthew (Matt) Russell has chosen pediatric spinal surgery as his specialty. Only Dr. Russell has a reputation at their hospital. He can’t seem to hold on to an assistant. His former assistants claim to needing therapy after their time with him. He is brutal. He is also beautiful. Bailey has been noticing him for some time. But she has never spoken to him. She knows all about his reputation. But it isn’t until she sits in on one of his surgeries that she gets it. That she witnesses his talent. Matt and Bailey have a rough start but the mutual respect and attraction makes this book a must read.

The Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score is the first book her Knockmount series, it begins with Naomi who comes to the small town of Knockemout after leaving her fiancee at the alter and to come help her twin sister Tina. When she gets to town she realizes her sister had caused all kinds of hell in town and has a bad reputation. In fact she is thought to be her sister when she goes to the local cafe and Knox Morgan shows up to “escort” her out of town. The couple are thrown together and Naomi realizes that she has an eleven year old niece that she knew nothing about which ties her to the small town. Knox and Naomi butted heads but he feels inclined to help her and the mutual attraction is really what draws you in. I also recommend reading the second book in this series, Things We Hide From The Light, that follows Nash Morgan.

Icebreaker by Hannah Grace is a 5 star book starting with figure skater Anastasia Allen who has worked hard her whole life to reach her athletic dream of going to the Olympics. With her precise plan, strict schedule, and a no-nonsense attitude, she’s fully focused on accomplishing her goal. Nate Hawkins, a six-foot-something, gorgeous captain of the university’s hockey team, is exactly the type of complication Anastasia doesn’t need. However, due to a prank gone wrong, Anastasia and Nate are forced to share a rink together, and after her partner gets injured, Nate steps up to be the replacement. With their goals within their grasp and their future on the line, falling in love is a tremendously bad idea. But the more time Anastasia and Nate spend together, and with each new wall broken down, keeping feelings to themselves seems impossible.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover is a story about Tate, a twenty two year old nurse in training that moves into her brother’s apartment in San Francisco to live with him till she finds a place for herself. That’s where she met Miles, her brother’s friend from work. Miles is incredibly gorgeous, mysterious pilot from the apartment next door and someone who makes Tate tingle all over. The chemistry between them was off the charts. Tate and Miles agreed to have a mutual agreement. Miles told Tate from the very beginning that there won’t be love between them or anything more. He doesn’t want love or relationship, nothing will change that. Tate doesn’t think she can separate her feelings from him and that is the start of this ugly love. This book dives deep into his past and is told from dual point of view with flashbacks from five years ago. This book is a five star and arguably one of Colleen Hoovers best written book.
