What Your Mario Kart 8 Main Says About You

Mario Kart is a fun, sometimes friendship destroying racing game made by Nintendo that was adapted into its newest version, Mario Kart 8 deluxe, on the Nintendo switch in 2017. This is a fun list made for entertainment purposes about what the main character you play as in Mario Kart 8 says about your personality, or how you like to play the game.

Mario, Luigi, Metal Mario, and Tanooki Mario

If you play as any of the Mario characters or Luigi, you are someone who values tradition and the classic Mario games. You hate it when people spend forever on customization. You’re not someone who wants to stick out, but it makes you humble, and therefore, respectable. If you play as Tanooki Mario, you’re willing to take criticism from others with a grain of salt, so good on you for being yourself. You probably like your stats to be balanced between speed, acceleration, traction, handling, and weight, without any of them overpowering the others. If you play Metal Mario however, you likely value speed over acceleration.

Donkey Kong

To put it simply, if you play as Donkey Kong, you want to win. You are competitive by nature and are noble in your endeavor to seize the top of the ranks. You want to be a force of nature and push out anyone blocking your path to victory (Admit it you watch the highlight reels to watch yourself bump into people). You also might like Monkeys and play as him to honor Harambe. When you do jump boosts or drift, you like to yell about it. It is likely you value speed over acceleration, but not so much that you neglect your acceleration stat.

Baby Characters (Rosalina, Peach, Mario, Luigi, Daisy)

You’re someone who likes to play things safe, you like feeling in control, hence the affinity these characters have for good handling and decent acceleration. You like cute things, and probably have a go-to baby character you don’t easily sway away from using. You’re consistent, and don’t care to be the fastest one on the track, rather you want to have the most control of drifting and take advantage of the course.

Dry Bones

You’re just like someone who plays the baby characters, but you’re edgy, and that’s cool- never change.

Toad, Toadette, and Lakitu

If you play as any of these three, you own it, and unashamedly vouch for your main as a racer, possibly to an excessive extent. You’re probably one to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. You’re analytical and like to play smarter not harder. You don’t worry about speed as much as taking advantage of the shortcuts and good drifting opportunities. The bots for these characters may always straggle behind, but with proper utilization, you learn to optimize these characters for victory.

Yoshi

Your stats are perfectly balanced, as all things should be. You’re a good listener and a good sport, you just love the thrill of a race, likely because you’re the one who throws the blue shells and never admits it. You love your items and won’t hesitate to ruin a friendship or two.

Peach, Cat Peach, Pink-Gold Peach, and Daisy

You’re a girl, or just really like girl characters, a true feminist at heart. You’ve either been playing Mario Kart for a very long time or have only just started. You balance out your speed and acceleration, with enough room for good handling. If you play Pink-Gold Peach, you value speed over acceleration.

Bowser, Dry Bowser, King Boo, and Wario

If you enjoy playing as these characters, you are a fan of big boys. If someone bumps into your kart, you want to be an unmoving force. You’re edgy, and probably have a power-complex, but that’s okay, cause people with those always have the best character development. You are a speed demon and don’t care much for acceleration, your handling is atrocious, but that’s okay, cause you’re fast and don’t care about all that “steering” junk. If you like Wario, you like money, and Mr. Krabs is absolutely your favorite SpongeBob character.

Shy Guy and Koopa Troopa

You are probably someone quieter and more reserved, a shy guy if you will. These are also the characters that a dad who has never played the game would pick. You play more tactically with a balance of speed and acceleration, focused more on handling. You probably have more than once stayed in 2nd or 3rd place the entire time until passing at the very end of the 3rd lap and taking the win, the silent killer.

Rosalina and Waluigi

Okay! We get it! You like these ones! You just love sending 10+ memes to your friends every day without expecting any back. You’re a speed demon that doesn’t like neglecting any of your stats and you probably use the same combination of wheels, karts, and hang gliders; unchanging and stubborn in your resolve for consistency.

Splatoon Boy and Girl

Either you love Splatoon or have never heard of it and just like the design of these characters. You’re most likely the quirky one of your group of friends. You don’t enjoy the classic races as much as the battles, and you kick butt at Renegade Roundup. You prefer speed over acceleration and like to maintain decent handling.

Animal Crossing Characters and Isabelle

Go back to playing new horizons.

Link

You’ve most likely spent hours playing Breath of The Wild or just love the Zelda game series. Your super chill and sometimes won’t notice when the race starts. You love being fast and are a drifting king.

Baby Bowser and the Koopalings

You’re either the loudest person in the room or the quietest, there is no in-between. You just love saving up your red shells in second place to bombard the first-place player at the end of the race. You’re someone who loves customization in games, and likely pick your kart based on how goofy it looks rather than its stats. Depending on which of these characters you use determines if you like light characters, ex) Lemmy, or heavy characters, ex) Morton.
