Romance Reads
Romance books are all the rage currently for young teens and young adults, the author that really took off this category was Colleen Hoover. As a avid romance book reader who has read over 450 books there has been some stand out books that I would classify as must reads.
Archers Voice by Mia Sheridan a 4.31 rated book on Goodreads, is a book that I recommend reading. Character Bree Prescott going to a small lakeside town to escape her issues and get a break from life. She soon gets to Pelion she runs into Archers Hale a mute man who is a mystery to the rest of the town. Archer is one the most wholesome, selfless, thoughtful fictional characters I have read about. His point of view in the book brings light to what goes inside of his head and what goes on for many people who can’t speak. Both characters are trapped in there own minds but that’s what draws them together. The bond of sign language and mutual attraction creates unforgettable story that has you connect to a deeper level with both Archer and Bree. Archers voice is a book that you will want to be able to first for the first time over and over again.
The Rivalry by Nikki Sloane is a 3.99 rated book on Goodreads but a 5 star read for me. For The University of Michigan fans this book is a must read, Jay a Michigan football player becomes involved with a Ohio State cheerleader without knowing it. Kayla the cheerleader meets Jay at a mutual friends wedding but have no idea that they are complete opposites competing at rival schools. The rivalry between Michigan and Ohio State is arguably one of the biggest rivalries in college and the emotion behind the characters describes this rivalry perfectly. Both sets of parents are big college fans and creates a forbidden aspect of this book. The Rivalry will have you at the edge of your seat, the characters go through so many hardships to be with each other. For both Michigan fans,Ohio State fans, and college football romance book fans this is a must read.
Kulti by Mariana Zapata is a 4.30 rated book by Goodreads and is another 5 star recommendation. This is a slow burn, single point of view from women’s American professional soccer player, Sal. Her coach Reiner Kulti is the most famous mens soccer player and Sal grew up watching and has the biggest crush on him. Kulti does not return the feelings nor care that Sal has sort of feelings toward him, when he starts coaching her team he is cold and distant. Sal and Kulti’s relationship for the majority of the book is just Coach and Player but as the book goes on they start to form a weird type of friendship. Sal is one of the most fun, entertaining, and refreshing heroines that I’ve ever seen, she is relatable and being in her head is never boring. Kulti let’s Sal in his head and they start something that I guarantee with make you fall in love with both of them. Since the story is only told from Sal’s point of view you don’t know what going on inside of Kulti’s distant head. This book is fantastic and a read I would not pass up on.
