The Dakota High School musical is a highly anticipated event every year! The 2023 show will be Shrek: The Musical and it is coming soon. Here is what we know so far about the upcoming performances. It will be directed by Mr. Boni, and the choir teacher Mr. Dargis is the vocal director and producer. The band teacher Mr. Makarewicz is the instrumental director.  

Cast: 

The musical will star Ashton Posner as Shrek, Claire Kraft as Princess Fiona, Dante Dagati as Lord Farquaad, and Nya Jones as Donkey. Additional characters include Cloe Campbell as Pinocchio, Aliza Black as The Dragon, and Monday Skrocki as Gingy. Many other talented students will be a part of the performances in various fairy tale creature roles. 

What they are doing to prepare:  

Cast members have been working hard to prepare for the musical. They have practices until 10:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday every week. They are all committed to making their performance the best it can be.  

How to get tickets: 

Tickets can be purchased at PaySchool Events. They cost $15 each. Seats are still available at https://www.payschoolsevents.com/events/details/23140 

Dates of the shows: 

Shrek will be the first two weeks of February. Thursday February 2nd is opening night, and there are also shows at 7:00pm on February 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, and 11th. On both Saturdays there are also shows at 1:00pm. These matinee shows will feature Cast Meet and Greets after the performance so pictures can be taken.
