Metro Detroit, Michigan Weather: “Expect a Gradual Warm-Up Ahead of Turkey Day!” Rain possible Thursday night, but more likely on Black Friday!!

DETROIT – Good Monday evening, Metro Detroit!

Tonight’s sunset was at 5:07 p.m.

After both a pretty chilly and breezy Monday under a mixture of both sunshine and clouds, we are looking forward to a gradual warm-up this holiday week ahead of Turkey Day on Thursday, so let’s hope for the best as families are likely travelling over the river and through the woods to… you know how the rest of the song goes, I hope. But first, let us focus on both the here and now, shall we?

Alright! So, on this Monday evening, we will have a transition from sunny to partly cloudy skies around Metro Detroit along with both temperatures dropping from the low 40s before sunset (which again, occurred at 5:07 p.m.)  into the upper 30s afterwards and winds west-southwest at 10-15 mph, gusting 20-25 mph, at times too as you commute back home from work or maybe as both you and your family run out to complete any errands that you may have. So, a jacket, sweatshirt, or a hoodie might be a good idea to both put on and wear as you do those things.

Then for overnight tonight, we will have a transition from mostly clear skies early to partly cloudy skies later on at night around Metro Detroit along with both very cold overnight low temperatures dropping down into the upper 20s in our Metro Zone, or in our Urban Heat Island, and winds both light and variable.

Sunrise tomorrow on your Tuesday (November 22nd, 2022) is at 7:32 a.m.

Slowly getting warmer, with some sun:

As both you and your family wake up to both get up and get going for either work, for the parents, or for school, for the kids, first thing tomorrow morning on your Tuesday, then you will walk out the door to morning temperatures starting out in the upper 20s in our Metro Zone, or in our Urban Heat Island, but likely in the low-to-middle 20s outside of our Urban Heat Island in our typically cooler rural areas, as WDIV’s meteorologist Paul Gross likes to say!

But thankfully, tomorrow afternoon on your Tuesday will be under mostly sunny skies along with both daytime high temperatures only in the low 40s and light winds southwest at only 5-10 mph trying to warm us up a little bit.

Mostly clear skies and cold too around Metro Detroit tomorrow night along with overnight low temperatures dropping down into the upper 20s once again.

Then, on your “Hump Day”, or Wednesday, around Metro Detroit, we will awake to morning low temperatures starting out in the upper 20s once again in our Metro Zone, or in our Urban Heat Island. But the afternoon hours should be under mostly sunny skies once again around Metro Detroit along with daytime high temperatures flirting with the middle 40s. So, this should be excellent weather to drive in or maybe even fly in if both you and your family are heading down to DTW in Romulus to fly out to your relatives for this Thanksgiving! Safe travels!!

Partly cloudy skies Wednesday night around Metro Detroit along with overnight low temperatures a degree or two either north or south of the freezing mark (which is 32 degrees if you did not know that).

Thanksgiving Day 2022 forecast:

Happy Thanksgiving Day, Thursday Metro Detroit! Thursday morning, as of right now, is looking great for both the S3 Turkey Trot and the America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade presented by Gardner White in Downtown Detroit. But it will be pretty cold for both of them if both you and your family are heading downtown for both of them, so coats, hats, gloves, scarves, base gear, and hand/feet warmers (for the S3 Turkey Trot) will be needed to stay both nice and warm as morning temperatures will start out in the low 30s all across both Metro Detroit and Southeastern Michigan.

But Thursday afternoon will be under mostly cloudy skies along with both daytime high temperatures rising into the middle-to-upper 40s to maybe 50 degrees (if we are lucky) and light winds south-southwest at only 5-10 mph.

Then, late Thursday night looks to have some wet weather in the form of scattered showers move into Metro Detroit that will likely continue into the day on Black Friday, so please stay tuned! And we will also have overnight low temperatures Thursday night flirting with 40 degrees.

Some wet weather on your Black Friday 2022:

Happy “Finally Friday” and of course, happy Black Friday 2022, Metro Detroit! Friday is all about shopping for the best deals during this holiday season and of course, travelling back home whether by car or by plane at DTW in Romulus after a wonderful Thanksgiving! And that means that weather will play a huge rule in all of this. So, let me explain what both you and your family can expect! We will awake Friday morning to morning temperatures flirting with 40 degrees in our Metro Zone, or in our Urban Heat Island, but likely in the middle-to-upper 30s outside of our Urban Heat Island in our typically cooler rural areas, as WDIV’s meteorologist Paul Gross likes to say! But Friday afternoon looks to be under mainly mostly cloudy skies with perhaps some scattered showers too around Metro Detroit along with daytime high temperatures flirting with the middle 40s. So, both umbrellas and rain ponchos will most likely be needed to stay both nice and dry as both you and your family go Black Friday shopping for the best deals this holiday season!

Mostly cloudy skies Friday night along with overnight low temperatures dropping down into the middle-to-upper 30s. So, a jacket, sweatshirt, or a hoodie might be a good idea to both put on and wear as both you and your sweetie go out for date night dinner at a fancy restaurant.

Your Weekend Forecast:

Partly cloudy skies on your Saturday around Metro Detroit along with daytime high temperatures falling into the low 40s.

Partly cloudy skies Saturday night around Metro Detroit along with overnight low temperatures flirting with the middle 30s.

Mainly partly cloudy skies with perhaps some light rain showers, in spots, too around Metro Detroit on your Sunday along with daytime high temperatures remaining in the low 40s. So, both umbrellas and rain ponchos will most likely be needed to stay both nice and dry as both you and your family commute both to and from both morning church services and brunch.
