UFOs in Michigan?
A UFO(unidentified flying object) is an unexplained moving object that has been spotted in the sky by witnesses. They are known as the transportation of extraterrestrial life visiting earth and “proof” that it exists. Many believe these do not exist while others believe they do. The first mass publicized UFO sighting took place in 1947, when businessman, Kenneth Arnold, claimed he spotted a group of fast, crescent-shaped, flying objects while piloting his own plane near Mount Rainier in Washington. Since then, people around the world have talked about similar experiences that have happened and that they truly believe UFOs are in fact real.
An interesting sighting happened in West Michigan. It took place on March 8, 1994 when 911 received over 300 calls reporting multiple UFOs. These UFOs were described as flickering Christmas lights, with five or six objects, circular shaped, with blue, red, white and green lights. The 300 and above witnesses were in 42 counties across Michigan such as Muskegon, Ottawa, Berrien, and Allegan. They have ruled out many possibilities including small planes, gas, blimps, weather balloon, satellite, shooting star, and military aircrafts.
Netflix recently released an episode about these events on the show Unsolved Mysteries. Witnesses, 911 operators, and scientists appeared on the episode and talked of their own experience of that night. Seeing that this was on a show called Unsolved Mysteries it explains what happened with this case. Although there are many theories from a lot of sources, no one was ever able to find out or explain what happened or led to these events in 1994. But the people who were shown in the episode were very certain of what they saw and everyone’s story matched up included all the witnesses in the 911 calls that were not in the episode. This brought back a lot of attention and created attention since many people did not know this event took place, especially so close to home. The more people that watch it and have knowledge on it could lead to someone figuring it out or putting together details to make a story that makes sense.
