If you are a cheese lover, these cranberry brie bites will bring joy to your stomach. The ingredients needed are

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, from 1, 17oz box

Nonstick cooking spray

4 oz. brie cheese

1/2 c. Cranberry sauce, homemade or canned

3 tbsp. raw shelled pistachios, chopped

Flaky sea salt and ground black pepper, optional

Directions on how to make

Thaw the puff pastry according to package directions.

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Spray a 24-well mini muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place the brie in the freezer for 20 minutes or until firm to the touch.

On a well-floured surface, roll the sheet of puff pastry into a 10×15-inch rectangle. Cut the pastry into 4 strips lengthwise. Then, cut the pastry crosswise into 6 strips, creating 24 squares. Press the pastry squares into each well of the muffin pan, letting the excess stick up over the edges.

Cut the firm brie into 24 (½-inch) slices. Place a piece in the center of each pastry square. Top each with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce. Sprinkle with chopped pistachios.

Bake for 15 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown on the edges and the cheese is bubbly. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Remove the bites from the pan and garnish with sea salt and pepper, if desired

Baked sweet potato fries with maple mustard sounds like a food that you cannot pass up, with recipe under

1 large, sweet potato, peeled and cut (about 1 lb.)

1 Tbsp. cornstarch

1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp garlic salt

1/4 tsp ground black pepper

1/4 C mayonnaise

1/4 C. spicy brown mustard

2 Tbsp pure maple syrup

Directions on how to make

Peel and cut your sweet potato into thin fries (think McDonalds fry size). Soak in water overnight in the refrigerator.

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Drain the sweet potatoes and dry really well on a clean kitchen towel.

Combine mayonnaise, spicy brown mustard and maple syrup in a small bowl. Set aside.

In a large bowl, toss the sweet potatoes and cornstarch together until the sweet potatoes are coated. Toss with the olive oil, garlic salt and pepper.

Divide the sweet potatoes between the two baking sheets and spread them out so that they are not touching each other. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, stir the fries and rotate baking pans as needed. Bake for another 10-15 minutes. Check frequently after the 10 minutes and remove fries as they are done. Overcooked fries will burn and larger fries will take longer to bake. Serve immediately with the maple mustard dipping sauce.

The last food item will put you in the holiday spirit, below the recipe for maple caramel bacon crack

1 lb. bacon

1 pkg Pillsbury crescent rolls

¼ cup maple syrup

¾ cup brown sugar

Directions on how to make

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet (like a 15×10) with parchment paper and lightly grease the parchment with cooking spray. NOTE: this recipe was originally made with foil. Since people have had issues with the foil, I recommend using parchment paper. Unroll the crescent rolls into one single plane of dough and pinch any perforations together to seal. Stretch the dough out to fit the size of the pan with your hands so it’s even. Prick the dough with a fork all over. Set it aside.

Meanwhile, cook your bacon. I like cooking mine in a skillet, but you can bake it – whichever you prefer. Cook it until it’s technically safe enough to eat and just about done, but still lighter in color and not quite crispy. You don’t want it fully cooked and crispy as it will continue to cook in the oven. I pulled mine out of the pan right when they were a medium-pink color. Drain the bacon on a paper towel-lined plate.

Drizzle half of the maple syrup over the crescent roll dough. Sprinkle with about ¼th cup of the brown sugar. Top with torn pieces of the cooked bacon. Drizzle the remaining maple syrup on top of the bacon pieces, and top with the remaining brown sugar.

Bake for approx. 20-25 minutes or until bubbling and caramelized. Remove from the oven and allow the pan to come to room temperature or warm to the touch before cutting or breaking into pieces. You can serve this at room temperature or slightly warmed.
