Club Spotlight: Project Kind

Project Kind, formally known as Student Diversity Group, is a club run by Mr. Renaud and Dr. McPharlin, giving students the opportunity to impact Dakota High School with the awareness and kindness of our actions.

Dr. McPharlin expands further on the idea, informing, “If we can do something small, that creates a ripple effect of kindness in the school, we’re gonna make that happen.”

To kick off the school year, Project Kind does one of their most well known events, the Haunted Hallway with the tagline as Dr. McPharlin calls it, “Scaring the bully out of people.”

After the Halloween festivities are over, the club switches it’s focus onto the smaller activities, “but I think equally as impactful where we pass out compliments, we do anonymous compliment forms, we do candies on days where we know things are going to be a little more stressful in the building, welcome people with music in the north building, and put signs on lockers,” Dr. Mcpharlin states.

So if the features of the club pique your interests, don’t be afraid to stop by! Meetings are on Mondays afterschool hosted by Dr. McPharlin and Mr. Renaud.
